COMMON CONDITIONS THAT WE TREAT

DEPRESSION

Depression (major depressive disorder or clinical depression) is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. To be diagnosed with depression, the symptoms must be present for at least two weeks.

ANXIETY

For a person with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. The symptoms can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, school work, and relationships. There are several types of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and various phobia-related disorders.

ATTENTION-DEFICIT DISORDER

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. People with ADHD experience an ongoing pattern of the following types of symptoms: inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity

BIPOLAR DISORDER

Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, concentration, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. There are three types of bipolar disorder. All three types involve clear changes in mood, energy, and activity levels.

INSOMNIA

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that causes an inability to fall asleep on time. This can lead to impairment in mood, energy, memory and cognition. Proper lifestyle changes, medication, and forms of psychotherapy can yield significant clinical benefits.

ADDICTION

Addiction may occur to a variety of substances ranging from nicotine and alcohol to illicit drugs of abuse such a heroin. Furthermore, clinical addiction may also occur in lifestyle factors such as gambling, sex, shopping, or video games to name a few. Proper lifestyle changes, medication, and forms of psychotherapy may yield significant clinical benefit. Telapsychiatry LLC may be able to help with more mild to moderate forms of addiction, but more severe forms of addiction often will need rehab or detox services.
