Will is a licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC) who received his education from Wake Forest University. Will's approach to counseling incorporates principles of client-centered and solution-focused theory.

He is trained and certified in trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and many other therapy approaches. He has experience working with clients as young as 5 and adults preparing to transition from adult careers into retirement.

Will has worked successfully with clients of varying ethnic, national, and racial backgrounds. He also has experience with LGBTQIA+ clients and is multilingual, speaking Russian, Polish, and limited Ukrainian.

Will's professional focuses are military and veteran's issues (including the effects of combat), long-term and chronic trauma, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and men's issues.

Before obtaining his training and license, Will spent over 20 years serving in the US military with various overseas assignments and deployments. During those years, Will developed first-hand knowledge and experience dealing with chronic stress, work/life balance issues, cultural sensitivity, cross-cultural communication, anger management, and emotional regulation.

William Kimmins’s Clinical Interests

Will believes in forming a partnership with clients and resolving small issues to increase their quality of life and build resolutions for larger client concerns. Therapy is a collaborative effort and Will believes in making sure the client is firmly in control of the course their therapy takes.

You know yourself best; therefore, your therapist should only be there to help you do the work. You are going to make the changes, he is just going to help you move through the process a little faster and a little smoother.

Will accepts the following insurances:

  • Carefirst / Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Out of pocket / self-pay
